PAUL MUTTON - EGIHL HALL OF FAMER

It is with sadness we report that Mutt, as his friends and team mates affectionately called him, passed away on Thu Dec 21st in his 80th year.

Mutt, a legend in the league and a friend to all who played with him, started playing in the EGIHL in the 80s...

He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2013 while still an active member.

In 2017, he won the Lady Byng award...

He played for one more season after that before finally hanging them up at the age of 75!

Our heartfelt sympathies go out to Paul's family and friends. He will be missed and never forgotten. Visitation information can be found by clicking the link below:

EGIHL MEMBERS HELP FEED THE NEEDY

This year, the members of the EGIHL raised $5,800 for the local food pantries. Between donations made on the GoFundMe page linked to our website and donations collected before and during the Christmas social, we were able to provide three cheques. One to the Holland Landing Food Pantry, run out of the Holland Landing Community Center; One to the Sharon Food Pantry, run out of St. James the Apostle Anglican Church in Holland Landing; One to the Mount Albert Food Pantry run out of the United Church in Mount Albert.

Thank you to everyone in the league who were able to make generous donations so that we could surpass our original goal of $4000.

As well, with the raffle of a hocket stick, donated by Ken Van Noort, we were able to provide $345 to Colin Wackett's efforts to provide local Mount Albert families in need over the holidays with Christmas dinner and some children's gifts and gift cards.

Again, we have shown that our league is much more than just a group of guys playing weekly hockey. You demonstrate the heart and soul of who we are as a group, giving generously back to the community that so many of you have been a part of in so many ways.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all and your families.
