The East Gwillimbury Intermediate Hockey League was launched in 1979 to give those who played minor hockey in EG an opportunity to continue playing the sport they love after Juvenile.

Many of the founders who were there from Day 1 are still in the league today, 34 years later.

What started as a 4-team league, quickly grew to 6 teams...and then to 8 teams. In 2011-12, the league grew again, to 10 teams. Today, we have a dozen teams, split into an Open division and a Masters (50+) division.

The league operates as a single entity, with the shared purpose of fellowship and the love of the sport.
