CHRISTMAS COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Our league has had a long tradition of offering support for many local causes and charities. For example, the league covered half the cost of the defibrillator that's mounted in the main lobby of the arena. The same unit that helped save the life of George Padanyi in September 2019. Another example was when the EGIHL raised $10,000 to help a Holland Landing mother cover the costs of artificial limbs due to her suffering from necrotizing fascitis (flesh eating disease). Yet another when the league helped the York Center for Children obtain a much-needed computer station for the students.

For the past four years, the league has focused our fundraising efforts to support two great causes. The first is the East Gwillimbury Food Banks out of Holland Landing, Mount Albert, and Sharon. The second is a more low-key support of needy local families in East Gwillimbury, specifically to make their Christmas day brighter and festive.

This year, we are hoping our members, once again, will show their support as we set up a new GoFundMe account to make donations to the EG Food Banks an easier process. Please feel free to share the link below with family and friends to help us surpass the $5,500 we raised last year:

For Colin, who keeps his initiative "quiet and discreet" out of respect for the privacy of the families he supports. If you're interested in offering financial aid to Colin, please make a cash donation on the night of Tuesday December 16th at our Christmas Social. There will be a Christmas stocking at the banquet for guys to make their donations. The families also require toiletries, so there will also be a gift box set up at the Christmas Social to collect any donated toiletries.

Please help the league share the spirit of Christmas with our community by making a donation.
